Determine Shipment Density
Measure height, width and depth. Measure to furthest point.
Multiply the three measurements. The result is total cubic inches.
Divide the total by 1728 (number of cubic inches in a cubic foot) the result is cubic feet of
shipment. Divide weight of shipment by cubic feet to determine pounds per cubic foot,
or density of shipment.
Example
42´´x 48´´x 48´´= 96768 Cubic Inches
96768 ÷ 1728 = 56 cubic foot
800 (weight of shipment) ÷ 56 = 14.29 pcf (density)

Receiving Deliveries
1. Inspect shipment for obvious signs of damage.
2. Compare number of units in shipment to number on delivery receipt.
3. Sign and date delivery receipt indicating number of units received;explicitly note any damages or discrepancies.
